Rare Breed Triggers Launches FRT-15L3, First New Forced Reset Trigger Since Legal Victories

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Rare Breed Triggers announced the release of the FRT-15L3 on Wednesday, the company’s first branded forced reset trigger since a series of legal victories cleared the way for resumed production and sales earlier this year.

The release follows three milestones: (1) a declaratory judgment by U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor in the Northern District of Texas holding that forced reset triggers are lawful semiautomatic devices; (2) the Department of Justice’s voluntary dismissal of its civil action against Rare Breed in the Eastern District of New York; and (3) a comprehensive settlement resolving all outstanding matters, under which the United States agreed to recognize Judge O’Connor’s order.

Priced at $450, the FRT-15L3 is a drop-in, three-position trigger designed for the AR-15 platform. It features safe, traditional semi-automatic and forced reset semi-automatic modes, incorporating the company’s patented locking bar technology. The device mechanically resets the trigger after each shot, allowing for faster follow-up shots while firing one round per trigger pull, in compliance with federal regulations.

“This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Rare Breed Triggers,” said Lawrence DeMonico, the company’s president. “After years of fighting for our rights and for the rights of gun owners nationwide, we’re proud to deliver innovative products that enhance performance without compromising legality.”

The FRT-15L3 is the first in a planned lineup of new releases. Rare Breed Triggers intends to introduce several models compatible with various platforms including the MP5, AK-47, Ruger 10/22 and CZ Scorpion in the coming months.
