Mossy Oak Releases 2025 Wild Turkey Conservation Stamp

WEST POINT, MS – Mossy Oak has released their fourth annual wild turkey conservation stamp, a  collectible stamp in which all proceeds go directly to wild turkey conservation projects around the  country.

After an enthusiastic and successful response to the first three stamps, Mossy Oak has been able to use the funds raised from those stamps to support research and projects such as groundbreaking and crucial  LPDV research, hen survival, nesting selection and success, poult rearing, and general habitat  improvement, putting more prescriptive fire on the landscape, and most recently, the most  comphrehensive and extensive wild turkey research project that’s ever been conducted, run by Dr.  Marcus Lashley.

The large-scale project includes areas of interest and importance to wild turkey research like the  measurement of productivity and survival in male and female wild turkeys across the state, disease and  genetic testing on harvested wild turkeys, measuring the relationship between gobbling activity and  hunting pressure on more than 20 sites, indexing predator populations and hunting pressure and  establishing whether “turkey specialists” exist in the predator community, and establishing a poult  imprinting study that will give clarity on optimal poult habitat cover.

The 2025 Mossy Oak Wild Turkey Conservation Stamp features a painting by Florida artist Jim  Turlington entitled Off the Roost. Off the Roost is the result of months of observation and field sketches  for his watercolors. The scene captures a classic flydown that would get any turkey hunter’s heart  pumping.

100% of proceeds from this year’s stamp will again go into the Gamekeeper Grants conservation  program to, with the help of leading scientists and biologists, carefully choose which conservation and  research projects to support next.

Mossy Oak founder Toxey Haas has written a letter to stamp purchasers to thank and encourage  everyone for the enthusiastic support for the wild turkey.
