Mitzy McCorvey Named Recipient of 2025 HSCF Frank Green Award

Houston, TX – [February 20, 2025] – The Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is proud to announce Mitzy McCorvey as the recipient of the 2025 Frank Green Award, one of HSCF’s highest honors. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have dedicated extraordinary time and effort to the betterment of Houston Safari Club Foundation over many years.

Mitzy McCorvey has been a dedicated member of HSCF since 2002, becoming a Life Member in 2010. Over the years, she has demonstrated unwavering support, serving in key leadership roles, including President of HSCF (2018-2019), Vice President (2014-2015), Board of Directors (2015-2017), Convention Chairman (2016), Gazelles Luncheon Co-Chair (2008, 2014, 2015, 2017), and Co-Chair of the Convention Decorating Committee (2022-Present).

Mitzy’s contributions extend beyond leadership, as she has been an HSCF Corporate Sponsor (2007-2011), a Dan L. Duncan Legacy Sponsor since 2012, and a dedicated supporter of the Gazelles Luncheon through sponsorships and donations to its live and silent auctions. In recognition of her service, she received the HSCF President’s Award in 2012 and was named the 2016 HSCF International Huntress of the Year.

Mitzy’s dedication to conservation and hunting extends beyond HSCF. She is a Life Member of SCI, SCI Sables, and Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (HLSR), Benefactor Life Member of the NRA, Elected Member of the NRA Board of Directors (since 2022), Executive Committee Member of the NRA Women’s Leadership Forum (since 2016), and Longtime volunteer and committee leader for HLSR, including service on the Souvenir Program Committee and Scholarship Judging Committee.

Additionally, Mitzy has played a key role in philanthropy, serving as Live and Silent Auction Coordinator for the Sunshine Kids at HLSR BBQ Cook-Off and remaining actively involved in the Texas Deer Association.

Mitzy and her husband, Tony McCorvey, who is also a Life Member of HSCF, share a passion for conservation, ranching, and hunting. Together, they oversee cattle and deer operations at Rancho de Sueños, their family ranch. They are proud parents of five children and seven grandchildren, passing down their love for the outdoors to future generations.

Named in honor of former HSC Past President and HSC founder Frank E. Green, this award serves as a memorial to his unwavering dedication to HSCF, conservation, and hunting. The award is reserved for individuals who have volunteered extraordinary time and effort over a period of more than three years, significantly impacting HSCF’s mission.
