MidwayUSA Foundation Announces Hometown Challenge Winners

Columbia, MO – MidwayUSA Foundation has wrapped up another incentive to help youth shooting teams raise funds to grow their endowment.  The Hometown Challenge Sweepstakes ran through September and raised more money for youth shooting sports than in previous years.  Nearly 500 youth shooting teams received an endowment donation in September and those donations totaled $596,626.59!  After a 1:1 donation match, that’s over one million dollars for youth shooting teams in just one month.  In addition, youth shooting sports organizations also received donations to support their mission.  In total, MidwayUSA Foundation’s Hometown Challenge raised $639,810.59.

Along with matching donations, MidwayUSA Foundation provided $80,000 in endowment incentive dollars to participating teams. The top 5 teams earned generous endowment-dollar prizes, and thirty (30) teams were randomly drawn to win $1,000, each. Congratulations to Peoria Skeet and Trap Youth from Illinois for their first-place victory! This youth shooting team received $104,218.74 in donations, and another $15,000 was awarded to this winning youth shooting team.  Additional winning teams were from a variety of states.

1.   IL – Peoria Skeet and Trap Youth Raised $104,218.75 | Won $15,000
2.   PA – Lawrence County Young Guns Raised $50,300.00 | Won $12,500
3.   AZ – Rio Salado Target Terminators Raised $29,001.00 | Won $10,000
4.   ND – Bismarck/Mandan Rifle & Pistol Junior Team Raised $28,276.00 | Won $7,500
5.   OH – Buckeye Outdoor Youth Education & Shooting Center, Inc. Raised $27,000.00 | $5,000

MidwayUSA Foundation’s Hometown Challenge also offered incentives to donors.  Thanks to generous industry sponsors, including SA Consumer Products, SKB Shotguns, Walther, Ruger, Savage, SSP Eyewear, Walker’s, and more every $20 donation was an entry into a 103-prize sweepstakes. Winners for all prizes have been announced and can be found on MidwayUSA Foundation’s website: midwayusafoundation.org/blog.

The next big incentive offered by MidwayUSA Foundation is coming up on December 3 to celebrate Giving Tuesday.  Endowment dollars will be awarded to top donation-earning teams and thanks to SK Guns, a very unique gun set will be available to donors.  More information about Giving Tuesday will be announced soon.

The MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity working to sustain and grow youth shooting sports by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams. Every donation made is tax-deductible and allows the Foundation to assist in expanding and enhancing the leadership skills, confidence, and discipline of today’s youth through shooting sports activities. The Foundation supports all shooting disciplines.
