Meindl Euro Light 9 Inch Boot Review

Meindl Euro Light 9 Inch Boot Review

Turkey Season is approaching and it’s a good opportunity to test out some new boots. I chose the Meindl Euro Light 9-inch uninsulated boot for the Spring season. Meindl is known for providing world class craftmanship and durability in a German-engineered pair of boots. These boots are perfect for hiking all kinds of terrain and are just the ticket for upland hunting, early season deer hunting, antelope hunting and anything you can think of before it gets extremely cold and you need insulated boots for your adventures.

This Meindl pair of boots weighs in at under 3lbs and my desire to test these specifically for turkey season was to get them in, broken in, hunt all season and then have a quality set of boots for some summer backcountry camping trips and a September antelope hunt if I am lucky enough to get drawn. It has been a while since I have utilized a 9-inch boot and I wanted something that would be able to keep water in and allow moisture to escape. The Gore-Tex® liner will work wonders to keep water out and allow my foot to breath with Flex-Zone venting. Overall these boos provide good quality cushioning and the light weight allowed me to move around as though I was in a much shorter boot.

One thing I really liked about these boots is that I am able to easily get these boots on and off quickly and I can lace them up and down extremely easily. The Digafix lacing system allows for the right precise fit for your feet. When hunting, I like boots to be extremely tight on my foot to prevent twists and sprains while running and gunning but that is just me and everyone is slightly different. I find turkey season is the opportunity to test out boots for Summer and early season Fall trips. These boots run true to size which I appreciate and I have been breaking them in around the house at first and then out walking the dog and soon shed hunting and then turkey hunting. Meindl makes these boots in an insulated and women’s model so they have versions for anyone looking for a high quality everyday boot ready for adventure.

Pair these boots with Meindl Merino Wool Socks that are weighted based on the weather and you have a system that is created to wick moisture away from your feet and prevent moisture from reaching your foot. Perfect for the early season dew build up from Spring weather to the hot weather when your feet are sweaty and there is work to be done. The Meindl boots are not cheap but they are made to last season after season. Quality construction in a high-quality boot specifically for those looking for performance, longevity and durability across Spring, Fall, and Summer. Leather uppers on these boots make them easy to keep clean and oiled and with proper care they should last many seasons. If you are looking for your next pair of boots, these are worth a serious look as a bomb-proof option.
