Last night Country music star and a lifelong nature conservationist, Chris Janson, was presented with The Conservation Aid Award by the National Wild Turkey Federation for his dedication to land preservation and responsible recreational hunting. Janson was presented with the award by former NASCAR driver Richard Childress and his longtime friend and partner in conservation efforts, Johnny Morris (Founder & CEO of Bass Pro Shops). The two avid outdoorsmen joined forces on a limited-edition hat sold exclusively through Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, which has been seen on notable figures including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Sales from the hat are donated to support several Tennessee-based nonprofit organizations close to Janson including Tennessee River Keepers, Hunters For The Hungry, No Trash Tennessee, all of which are committed to protecting wildlife and their habitats.

Janson has been a persistent advocate for conservation causes which has seen him recognized with other notable honors such as the Bass Pro Shops Hunter’s Best Friend Award, Bass Pro Shops Fisherman’s Best Friend Award, the Lee Greenwood Patriot Award, TNWF Conservation Sharing The Harvest Award, and the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida’s Outstanding Achievements in Conservation Award.
“I love America and the great outdoors! Hunting and fishing have been a big part of my life since the very beginning. Conservation, and the practices thereof, is something that I have learned and has become a very important part of my life. Being a good steward of the land and the wildlife is important, and I’m proud to play a small role. To be honored on behalf of the NWTF means the world to me. Long live the Wild Turkey!”

ABOUT CHRIS JANSON:
Chris Janson, proud member of the Grand Ole Opry and multi-platinum songwriter and artist, is part of Country music’s new breed. In touch with the lighter side of life with self-penned No. 1s “Fix A Drink,” “Good Vibes,” and the four-times Platinum “Buy Me A Boat,” as well as the more thoughtful truths of “Done,” “Things You Can’t Live Without,” and the CMA Song of the Year nominee and ACM Video of the Year “Drunk Girl.” Both “Boat” and “Girl” were named to the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s prestigious “Songs I Wish I Wish I’d Written” list, which is why artists like Tim McGraw (“Truck Yeah,” “How I’ll Always Be”), Justin Moore (“Off The Beaten Path”), Cody Johnson (“Let’s Build A Fire”), and the iconic Hank Williams Jr. (“God Fearin’ Man,” “Those Days Are Gone”) reach for Janson’s songs for their own projects. Beyond his artistry are his live shows, where all that heart-on-the-four-wheeler songwriting meets the fans where they come to rock. Rolling Stone proclaimed him “a live legacy in the making,” and Janson is a frequent presence at the nation’s biggest country festivals, tours, and unexpected sit-ins. For a man known for his outdoors lifestyle and collaborations with Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, making music from his own life has established the harmonica-forward multi-instrumentalist the go-to guy for young country for the last decade. Janson has just kicked off his 2024 tour dates while his BMLG debut single, “All I Need Is You,” recently hit the #1 spot on the Country music charts.
