Houston, TX – [February 11, 2025] – The Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is proud to announce Leo Martinez of DEA Ranch as the recipient of the 2025 HSCF Outfitter of the Year Award. This prestigious honor was presented during the 2025 HSCF Worldwide Hunting Expo & Convention, recognizing Leo’s exceptional dedication to conservation, ethical hunting, and excellence in outfitting services.
With nearly four decades of experience in the ranching and hunting industry, Leo Martinez has built a reputation as a leader in conservation and sustainable natural resource management. Since 1986, he has managed multiple ranch operations, shaping both the land and the communities he serves with his deep commitment to ethical hunting and wildlife stewardship.
Leo’s passion for ranching was inspired by his grandfather, who spent his life working the same land as a cowboy and ranch foreman. Today, he carries that legacy forward, blending hard work, family values, and environmental stewardship. As the current manager of Dancing Elk Alexander Ranch in Mathis, Texas, Leo continues to balance the responsibilities of hunting and ranching while ensuring that resources are preserved for future generations.
The HSCF Outfitter of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding outfitter who demonstrates excellence in customer service, reliability, and performance while upholding high ethical hunting standards*. Recipients are selected based on their dedication to conservation, years of involvement with HSCF, contributions to the organization, and commitment to promoting ethical hunting practices.
