Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt to Host Youth Participants this April

EL DORADO, Kan. – April 8, 2025 – The Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt is excited to announce its selection of five youth hunters thanks to its continued partnership with Pass It On! Outdoor Mentors and the Kansas Wildscape Foundation. This year, exceptional kids from across the state of Kansas will have the unique opportunity to participate in this upcoming hunting event that will take place April 16-18, 2025.

“We couldn’t think of two better organizations to help us share this opportunity for youth to engage in the hunt than Pass It On! Outdoor Mentors and the Kansas Wildscape Foundation,” stated Jarrod Nichols, immediate past board chair for the Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt. “Thanks to their support, we received over 100 applications for five available spots. We carefully divided the state into four areas, selecting one participant from each, along with one from Butler County.”

“When the Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt resumed three years ago, it was the perfect opportunity for our organization to get involved in the youth program,” said Executive Director of the Kansas Wildscape Foundation Marc Murrell. “By sponsoring Lifetime Hunting licenses for these kids, we aim to encourage hunting, conservation and the sharing of knowledge with Kansas youth.”

The Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt is proud to introduce the five Kansas youths who will participate in this year’s event:

  • Abrianna Weis – Goodland
  • Creighton Van Vleck – Rossville
  • Jayvin Shrewsbury – Meade
  • Elizabeth Dalton – Oswego
  • Noah Pope – El Dorado

“Participating in the Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt youth program is a fantastic way for our organization to engage,” said Brittany French, CEO of Pass It On! Outdoor Mentors. “We have strong connections with youth throughout the state, which allows us to effectively promote this wonderful opportunity.”
