Frank Proctor, U.S. Army Special Forces veteran and Grand Master in the U.S. Practical Shooting Association will kick off the event with the First Shot in the Kimber bay.
BOULDER CITY, Nev. – January 17, 2025 – SHOT Show® Industry Day at the Range is pleased to announce Kimber as the 2025 Industry Day at the Range First Shot sponsor, on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Boulder Rifle & Pistol Club in Boulder City, Nev. Frank Proctor, U.S. Army Special Forces veteran and Grand Master in the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Limited division will have the honor of firing the first shot.
Industry Day at the Range created the First Shot to provide one individual with the honor of firing the First Shot to start the day. For this year’s event, Proctor will fire the First Shot in the Kimber Bay (SR-.3) using the new 1911 variant from Kimber, the 2K11 chambered in 9mm. Industry Day at the Range will also donate $1,000 to Boot Campaign, Kimber’s foundation of choice.
Boot Campaign is a national 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports veterans and active-duty military families. Its mission is to honor and restore the lives of veterans and military families through individualized, life-improving care.

In addition to Proctor’s accomplishments as a Green Beret in the United States military, he was also named Grand Master in the USPSA Limited division and founder of Frank Proctor Shooting, a training and gear company.

SHOT Show is the nation’s largest professional event for the sport shooting, hunting and outdoor industry and takes place in Las Vegas January 21-24.
