PARK FALLS, WIS. (July 1, 2025) – St. Croix offers over 200 different conventional, spinning, and fly saltwater rods in our current catalog. Why so many? Meet St. Croix’s next generation of North American saltwater fishing rods. Crafted from an all-new material we call Matrix Composite, ROGUE V Boat, Jig, and Slow Pitch rods are among the strongest and most durable rods St. Croix has ever built – in any category.

Matrix Composite – working in concert with key St. Croix technologies like FRS, TET, and ART – ensures these new levels of strength and durability come with no sacrifices to blank diameter, sensitivity, or weight. A blend of proprietary materials – woven E-glass, SCII carbon, and ART scrim – Matrix Composite delivers an unprecedented combination of power, durability, lightweight and balanced handling, and value.

These 39 new conventional and spinning ROGUE V rods offer standout, premium performance at a retail price ($195 to $255) that makes them accessible to a variety of anglers – a variety that’s just as wide as the breadth of saltwater applications in which they’ve been designed to excel. ROGUE V is available in three families – ROGUE V Boat, ROGUE V Jig, and ROGUE V Slow Pitch.

In addition to first-ever St. Croix Matrix Composite construction, all ROGUE V rods feature angler-favored line-taming K-style guide trains in durable stainless steel. Alconite rings yield incredible strength and hardness while remaining considerably lighter than SiC. Nylon and stainless-steel reel seats provide uncompromised reel security with dual locking nuts. Contoured, modified-split-grip, premium EVA handles deliver fatigue-fighting angler ergonomics, making fishing these light and balanced rods even more enjoyable. Boat and Jig rods feature non-marring rubber gimbles that lock rods securely in rocket launchers, rod holders, and fighting belts and harnesses. ROGUE V Slow Pitch rods are equipped with a premium EVA and composite-cork butt cap.
