Newington, NH (Sept. 2, 2025) – Hunt Masters is proud to announce that professional hunter, television host, and longtime industry brand partner Gregg Ritz has drawn one of the most sought-after tags in North America, the Pennsylvania Archery Elk Tag.
Each year, thousands of hunters apply for the limited elk tags offered through the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s lottery system, but only a select few are chosen. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity allows Ritz to pursue one of the largest free-ranging elk herds east of the Mississippi during the peak of the rut with Mathews in hand.
“This isn’t just a hunt, it’s history in the making,” said Ritz. “Pennsylvania’s elk herd is a conservation success story, and to have the chance to chase these incredible animals with my bow is an honor I’ll remember forever. I can’t wait to share every step of the journey with the hunting community.”
Ritz, host of the award-winning outdoor television series Hunt Masters, will document the hunt from scouting and strategy to the final stalk on social media and YouTube: @ GreggRitzHuntMasters. The adventure will highlight not only the thrill of pursuing mature bulls in Pennsylvania’s rugged elk country but also the conservation efforts that have brought the herd back from near extinction.
“This tag is the pinnacle of Eastern big game hunting,” added Ritz. “I’ll be shooting my bow, but make no mistake, this is about far more than the shot. It’s about respecting the resource, telling the story, and inspiring hunters to dream big.”
The entire hunt will air in an upcoming episode of Hunt Masters on Outdoor Channel, offering viewers an inside look at the challenges, preparation, and passion that go into such a rare pursuit.
