Versatility is one of the essential features of the full-size Firminator G3, putting all the necessary equipment for building food plots into one implement that landowners can use in a broad range of applications. Sometimes, a smaller size is a must, particularly for those who do not own a full-sized tractor or who want to build food plots in smaller, more remote locations. For those desiring a smaller implement, Ranew’s Outdoor Equipment offers the Firminator G3 ATV Model, putting all of the great features of the full-size Firminator into a more affordable, portable version ideal for towing with ATVs and UTVs.
Like the Firminator G3 unit, Ranew’s built the ATV G3 Model on a rugged 3-inch steel square tubing frame that can take on the toughest turf. The ATV Model features a tow bar sized for a 2″ ball and retains the 3-point hitch for use with a small tractor. At 860 pounds, it is light enough to be pulled by a minimum of 500cc ATV or UTV but heavy enough to break up and dig into the hard ground other ATV harrows would bounce across the surface of.
It also features similar adjustability for increased versatility. Shortening or lengthening the top link adjustment changes how heavily the Firminator leans onto its six 14-inch ground turning disks to meet sod and soil conditions: lengthen for a deeper cut and shorten for lighter applications like top-seeding. A mid-range setting gives varying degrees of disk depth, allowing the cultipacker to maintain optimal ground contact and continue to break apart clods while leveling and firming the soil.
The ATV Model features the same accurate seeding system through a seed box constructed of rugged steel. This seeding system allows for the application of a range of seed sizes, from tiny clovers to larger corn and peas, even at the same time. It also has the same ground-driven system, where the seed is metered relative to speed. When the Firminator stops rolling, the seed stops falling, reducing waste.
Like the larger Firminator models, the true agricultural-grade cast iron cultipacker rolls over seed as soon as it hits the ground. Adjusting the top link lifts disks off the ground, allowing the cultipacker to roll on the soil. Additional frame weight is transferred to promote optimal soil compaction, enhance germination, and reduce waste.
Whether working on the back lawn or the farthest reaches of the back 40 to create food plots, filter strips, pastures, lawns, or other conservation plantings, the Firminator G-3 ATV model offers an affordable and practical alternative for those who need a compact, all-in-one machine.
