The Duck Hunters Organization™ advocated for regulatory changes that greatly increase opportunities for hunters
PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MANITOBA — In a move strongly supported by Delta Waterfowl, the Nova Scotia government has announced the expansion of Sunday hunting throughout the months of October, November, and December, going from two Sundays to 13.
“This change is a massive step forward for Nova Scotia’s sportsmen and women,” said Jim Fisher, vice president of Canadian policy for Delta Waterfowl. “By reducing these outdated restrictions, the provincial government is providing more hunting opportunities, especially for families, students, and working hunters who often can only hunt on weekends. We’d especially like to thank Nova Scotia’s Natural Resources Minister, Tory Rushton, for his leadership and support.”
Delta Waterfowl has consistently championed the expansion of hunting opportunities, working with our chapter volunteers and partners. This latest win in Nova Scotia follows similar outcomes throughout Atlantic Canada, such that all jurisdictions throughout the country now offer robust Sunday hunting.
“Seven-day hunting is central to Delta’s mission of securing the future of waterfowling and improving access to quality duck hunting,” Fisher said. “It directly benefits hunters by expanding the time they can share with friends and family in duck blinds.
