CMP to Host Select Events of 2025 World Police & Fire Games in Alabama

TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is honored to announce it will host a segment of the 2025 World Police & Fire Games at Talladega Marksmanship Park and the Judith Legerski CMP Competition Center in Alabama!

First held in California in 1985, the World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) are held biennially and feature a series of 60+ Olympic-style competitions – attracting thousands of athletes representing First Responders (law enforcement, firefighters, corrections officers and more) from different countries across the world. This year’s event will officially be assembled in Birmingham, June 27-July 6, at various venues.

“The World Police and Fire Games will bring over 1,200 athletes from around the globe to compete at The Talladega Marksmanship Park,” said Greg Raines, CMP Chief Commercial Officer. “We have been working closely with the World Police and Fire Games committee for over 18 months, and we are now fully prepared to host the upcoming competitions.”

“In the history of the WPFG, there has never been a venue like Talladega capable of accommodating every shooting discipline in one location. Our facilities set a new standard for the Games,” Raines went on.

CMP’s facilities will be the site of such events as:

  • Archery
  • Air Pistol
  • Air Rifle
  • Biathlon
  • Police Action Pistol
  • Police Pistol Combat
  • Rifle Large Bore
  • Rifle Small Bore
  • Shotgun

The facilities will remain open during all WPFG events – with guests welcome to view competition at any time, though the ranges will not be open for public use. Learn more about the 2025 World Police & Fire Games at https://bhm2025.com/.

About the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park:

Talladega Marksmanship Park, “The Home of Marksmanship,” is a worthy destination for firearm supporters and guests looking for practice, competition and mindful learning opportunities. Featuring CMP electronic targets and scoring monitors that can only be found at the 500-acre facility, the park regularly hosts rifle, pistol and shotgun events all year long. The CMP’s Unknown Distance Range at Talladega also allows guests to practice their skills in the field of over 100 steel targets, while the 20-lane life-size 3D target Archery Range provides even more marksmanship fun at the park.

The public is welcome daily, all year long, to test out their firearms or to simply explore the grounds. Off the firing line, the Club House holds a fully stocked Pro Shop that includes an exclusive collection of rifles, commercial sales, marksmanship accessories and CMP memorabilia that is always open during park hours. The CMP South Store is stocked with a variety of needs, like ammo, equipment, firearms, CMP memorabilia and other essentials. The air range is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. CST and Tuesdays from 8 p.m. to 7 p.m., where individuals of all ages are welcome to try their hands at air gun. Additionally, the range holds a variety of local, state and national competitions and events throughout the year. Learn more at https://thecmp.org/judith-legerski-cmp-competition-center/.
