CMP ANNOUNCES THREE LIMITED-ENTRY, IN-PERSON 1911 PISTOL SALES EVENTS

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is pleased to announce a series of exclusive, In-Person 1911 Pistol Sales Events scheduled for summer 2025. These one-day events will be held in conjunction with some of the CMP’s most popular marksmanship competitions of the year, giving those in attendance the rare opportunity to browse and purchase these timeless vintage pistols.

Event Dates and Locations:

  • Friday, June 6 – Anniston, Ala. (2025 D-Day Match)
  • Tuesday, July 15 – Camp Perry, Ohio (National Pistol Matches)
  • Saturday, August 2 – Camp Perry, Ohio (National Rifle Matches)

Details and Ticketing:

Each event will feature approximately 400 pistols, organized and displayed by grade (Service, Field, and Rack) and specialty categories, including:

  • Consecutive Serial Number Pairs
  • Slide & Frame Match (Same Manufacturer)
  • Early Production 1911 Pistols
  • Other Rare and Collectible Features
A wide selection of 1911 pistols will be on display for the In-Person 1911 Pistol Sales Event.

The CMP is committed to offering a fair and orderly purchasing experience during these events. Entry will be limited to ticket holders, with a maximum of 20 customers per 50-minute time slot.

Tickets will be sold in three pricing tiers based on shopping times, with earlier slots offering the widest selection:

  • $200: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
  • $150: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • $100: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

How To Purchase Tickets:

Tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis through CMP’s Competition Tracker system. INDIVIDUALS must sign up for a free Competition Tracker account at https://ct.thecmp.org/app/v1/index.php?do=login and have their user name and password available when the tickets are released.

Ticket Release Window: Tuesday, May 27 – 12:01 a.m. (EDT)

If accepted, a confirmation email will be sent, which will include:

  • Event address and specific time slot
  • Order Number (This will be required on the 1911 In-Person Sales Event Online Order Form submission.)
  • Link for secure, digital payment submission for the event ticket. Note: Only confirmed ticket holders will be charged.

Waitlisted customers will receive an additional courtesy update 7 days prior to the event date.

Ticket Refund Policy:

Confirmed ticket holders may cancel registration up to 7 days prior to the ticketed event for a 50% refund of the ticket price paid. Late cancellations (within 7 days of the event date) will forfeit the entire ticket price paid.

Security & Procedures:

Buyers must complete the linked 1911 In-Person Sales Event Online Order Form, including all required identification, attributes and FFL information, in advance. A completed packet will be required for entry. There will be no onsite transfers.

Pistols will be tagged and processed for payment and shipment through the CMP eStore system following the event.

For the safety of all involved, security will be provided by off-duty law enforcement officers at each site. Access will be controlled and monitored with metal detectors, ID verification, advanced video surveillance and strict no-guest and no-bag policies.

Increased Lifetime Purchase Limit:

The CMP recently announced that the lifetime purchase limit for 1911 pistols has been increased from 2 to 4. This change reflects CMP’s growing inventory and commitment to expanding access to these iconic firearms for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Customers will be permitted to purchase any quantity of pistols that adheres to the new lifetime limit of 4.

CMP’s programs encourage personal growth and build life skills, with such initiatives as its junior training and competition programs, Affiliated Club program and scholarships providing support to citizens of all backgrounds across the nation.
