Chevron Continues Partnership with Boone and Crockett Club

Chevron’s Gold Trailblazer in Conservation Partnership focuses on University Programs and Overall Mission Support

MISSOULA, Mont. – [June 17, 2025]—The Boone and Crockett Club announced today that Chevron has recommitted as a Gold Trailblazer in Conservation partner. Through the partnership, Chevron is supporting the Club’s overall mission to promote the conservation and management of wildlife, especially big game and its habitat, to preserve and encourage hunting, and to maintain the highest ethical standards of fair chase and sportsmanship in North America. In addition, their support provides travel stipends for wildlife management students in B&C’s University Programs to participate in professional conferences.

“Chevron is dedicated to wildlife conservation through its operations and collaborations with key organizations such as the Boone and Crockett Club,” said Kim McHugh, vice president of Chevron’s Rockies Business Unit. “We strongly believe in their mission and take pride in assisting future wildlife managers by enhancing their networking opportunities through the Club’s University Programs.”

Since its founding by Theodore Roosevelt in 1887 the Boone and Crockett Club and its members led the development of policies that protected federal public lands, developed the frameworks of modern game laws, funded conservation efforts, and reinforced the vision of sustainable use of our natural resources. Among the Boone and Crockett Club’s most forward-looking initiatives is its University Programs that attract the brightest young people to the strongest universities to work with the foremost wildlife faculty in the country.

The Club now has Professorship programs at three universities and Fellowship programs at four others. Over the past six years, the Club has rejuvenated these programs with new faculty involvement and an expanding Fellowship program. The fourth and fifth Professorship programs are planned at two more of the nation’s finest universities over the next two years. Through these efforts, the Club has been at the forefront of educating future conservation leaders whose career trajectories place them in positions where they can act on their passions, practice stewardship, apply best science, and advocate policy.

“Throughout our history, the Club has been supported through strategic partnerships with state and federal agencies, policy makers, other non-governmental conservation organizations, universities, and business and industry,” concluded Tony Schoonen, chief executive officer of the Boone and Crockett Club. “We thank Chevron once again for their commitment to wildlife conservation and our University Programs. This partnership helps fulfill a critical component of our conservation mission by supporting the education and training of our future wildlife management professionals.”
