Carey Garrison Earns Second Medal of 2025 with Silver at ISSF Cyprus World Cup

COLO SPRGS, CO (May 12, 2025) – Carey Garrison, from Crossville, Tennessee, claimed her second medal of 2025 with a silver in Women’s Trap at the 2025 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus, on May 10. This follows her silver medal performance in Buenos Aires last month.

“I am so excited and so grateful,” said Garrison after the final. “This morning, I didn’t even think I was going to make the final, so it was a blessing. I’m so grateful and super excited.”

Garrison wrapped up day one of qualifications in 10th place, heading into day two with some ground to gain in her pursuit of a coveted top six spot and a place in the final. After breaking into the top six, Garrison delivered an impressive final performance—especially remarkable given the challenging wind conditions.

“It was super windy,” said Garrison, a three-time ISSF Junior World Cup medalist. “I was just trying to keep my gun and everything still, but it was fun. It added another factor (to the final), and that was pretty cool.”

Garrison claimed the silver medal with a final score of 36, edging out Alessandra Perilli of San Marino who took bronze. She finished just one target behind Lada Denisova of the Individual Neutral Athletes who secured gold with a score of 37.

Garrison has medaled in two of the three international matches she has competed in this year. She earned her first open- age category individual medal last month at the ISSF Buenos Aires World Cup.

With her podium finish in Cyprus, Garrison brings her international medal tally to eight. Her steady rise through the ranks of the global shooting scene is clear—and her strong start to 2025 is proof of that progress.

Garrison’s medal doubled the U.S. podium count in Cyprus, following Sam Simonton’s silver in Women’s Skeet last week.

Up next for the shotgun team is the 2025 USA Shooting National Championships in Hillsdale, Michigan, May 22-June 1. The competition is a selection match for the national shotgun team.
