Teams Race Custom-Built Canyon Coolers While Raising Funds for
the Flagstaff Family Food Center
Flagstaff, AZ — Canyon Coolers®, the desert-inspired cooler brand known for crafting thoughtfully designed premium coolers and rugged, adventure-ready gear, brought high-speed thrills and community outreach to Flagstaff Snow Park with its annual Cooler Runnings race event on February 21, 2025. What started a few years back as a wild idea to break free from the daily office grind, has transpired into one of Flagstaff’s most unique and anticipated winter events. The Cooler Runnings event brings together 32 teams in a double-elimination bracket, each competing for the title of “Fastest sled in Arizona.” In addition, trophies are also awarded to “Best Costume” and “Best Looking Sled”, which means there’s more bragging rights on the line beyond speed. During the weeks leading up to the event, each registered team receives a 150-quart Canyon Cooler body to transform into their very own racing bobsled. From aerodynamic masterpieces to the most unique and wacky designs, creativity and innovation steals the spotlight as competitors gear up for the high-speed showdown.
Of course, this event is about more than just crowning a bobsled champion, it’s about giving back. Cooler Runnings has become a flagship fundraiser for the Flagstaff Family Food Center, helping provide meals and resources to those in need throughout the community. In fact, the shenanigans of this event and its proceeds have aided the Family Food Center’s efforts in providing more than 6.7 million pounds of food last year alone. This year the event raised more than $20,000 for the charity to help continue these important efforts.

Adding to the excitement, USA Women’s Bobsled Team athlete Macy Tarlton was in attendance, bringing her elite racing expertise and energy to the competition. The races took place across two tracks, where teams not only navigated the snow, but also relied on strategy, teamwork and a solid push-off at the starting line.
