The name of the King Rat series is rooted in David Barnett’s childhood experience of rat hunting. One day, using a slingshot his father gave him, David ‘killed’ (or so he thought) a rat with his slingshot. As he approached the rodent, it started squealing loudly. Suddenly, the biggest rat he had ever seen—a King Rat—came in and started tearing at the wounded one. The rest is history. Not long after, Barnett began building slingshots, and 60 years later, slingshots are still an essential part of the business.
