Baldwin, Lake, and Camp Crowned 2025 Junior Olympic Rifle Champions

COLO SPRGS, CO (April 30, 2025) – NCAA Rifle athletes Isabella Baldwin (U.S. Naval Academy), Griffin Lake and Camryn Camp (both of West Virginia University), earned the coveted titles of Junior Olympic Champion at the 2025 competition in Talladega and Anniston, Alabama, April 13-18, hosted by the Civilian Marksmanship Program.

Baldwin, a sophomore at USNA, captured the Women’s 10m Air Rifle title after an exciting final. The Nashville, Tennessee, native shot the number one overall qualification score of 1259.5 securing her spot in the final. Baldwin, a Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) All-American in both smallbore and air rifle last year, stood atop the podium alongside silver medalist Makenzie Larson and bronze medalist Elijah Spencer.

Lake, a sophomore at WVU, had a stellar Junior Olympics, walking away with two titles: Men’s 10m Air Rifle and Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions. Lake, of Emmaus, Pennsylvania, earned his way into the Men’s Air Rifle final with a qualification score of 1255.2. He secured his air rifle champion title by outshooting teammate Jacob Wisman who finished second. Brandon Evans joined the duo on the podium with a third-place finish.

Lake had an impressive smallbore rifle showing as well, shooting the top overall qualification score of 1147-36x. He went on to win the Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions final, with Braden Peiser finishing close behind in second place, and Tyler Wee in third. Lake, Peiser, and Wee all shot aggregate qualification scores of 1147 but Lake had the most Xs at 36.

Camp, a freshman at WVU, earned her spot on the top of the podium in Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions. The Hillsboro, Texas, native shot the top qualification score of 1143-44x, landing her in the final. Camp shot an exciting final taking gold with Gabriela Zych finishing second, and Spencer finishing third.

Awards were also earned in U18 and U15 age categories. See all results from the 2025 competition here.

Peiser was recognized during the award ceremony  for receiving the CMP U.S. Distinguished International Shooters Badge in 2024 — the highest honor in international marksmanship. Braden is one of only three USA Shooting athletes to receive this prestigious award in the past year.

ELEY also presented their 2024 ELEY All American awards to air and smallbore rifle athletes. The following athletes received the prestigious award:

Air Rifle: Mackenzie Kring, Elizabeth Probst, Makenzie Larson, Ashlyn Blake, Camryn Camp, Jack Ogoreuc, Tyler Wee, Elisa Boozer, Alexa Bodrogi, and Claudia Muzik

Smallbore Rifle: Tyler Wee, Ashlyn Blake, Danjela Jordan De Jesus, Elizabeth Probst, Jack Ogoreuc, Camryn Camp, Alexa Bodrogi, Mackenzie Kring, Mackenzie Pruden, and Grayson Muller

This year’s competition was especially thrilling, serving as the qualifier for the air pistol and rifle teams bound for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games this August in Asunción, Paraguay. The Junior Pan American Games take place every four years and feature athletes from North, South, and Central American countries.

Griffin Lake, Braden Peiser, Elijah Spencer, and Isabella Baldwin will represent the U.S. Air Rifle team this August. The four athletes qualified for the team by finishing with the overall top aggregate air rifle scores.
