3rd Annual Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt to Honor American Heroes in El Dorado, Kansas

EL DORADO, Kan. – April 3, 2025 – The Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt is excited to announce its 3rd Annual turkey hunt that will take place in El Dorado, KS April 16-18, 2025. This highly anticipated event will bring together more than 45 hunters for two days of exhilarating Kansas turkey hunting, alongside three evenings dedicated to honoring, celebrating and recognizing the invaluable contributions of our American heroes, sponsors and numerous volunteers.

Since its inception in 2023, the Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt has been dedicated to honoring those who have selflessly served their country, communities and families. This year’s event is proud to welcome an inspiring lineup of heroes, each with remarkable stories of resilience and dedication.

Among the honored participants is Brian Arterburn, a proud native of El Dorado. A former officer with the Wichita Police Department, Brian was severely injured in the line of duty in 2017 and was not expected to survive. His remarkable journey of healing and perseverance makes his participation in this hunt a true celebration of strength and courage.

Joining the hunt is Adiel Garcia, a member of the Johnson County Department of Emergency Communications. A former combat medic in the U.S. Army, Adiel’s career has taken him from serving in Germany and Bosnia-Herzegovina to teaching EMS-related topics worldwide. His expertise and commitment to service exemplify the spirit of the event.

We are also honored to have Mr. Mark Nutsch as the keynote speaker for the Strutters Banquet on Friday evening. A distinguished Army Ranger and Special Forces officer, Mark played a pivotal role in the U.S. response following the 9/11 attacks, leading one of the first Special Forces teams into northern Afghanistan. His courageous actions were instrumental in the liberation efforts against the Taliban and al-Qaeda and have been featured in several books and films, including the acclaimed movie, “12 Strong.”

The Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt not only serves as a platform for exhilarating hunting experiences but also as a gathering to foster camaraderie and gratitude for those who have dedicated their lives to serving. The community is invited to come together in supporting our heroes and celebrating their incredible sacrifices.
