Ben Petersen teams with Big Idea Design on EDC Pen project

Ben Petersen dreams big. He founded his company Knafs as a way to both stay involved in the industry while working a corporate job, as well as serve as an outlet for all of his disparate design ideas. Since his debut infographic poster, Knafs has added tool kits and other accessories to their lineup. The latest project? The Sancho EDC pen…  (from Kickstarter):

I wanted so badly to be a pen guy. But I struggled. You see, sometime in middle school I became a Bic Cristal pen man. Through and through. Doodles, sketches, homework, love notes. All of it done with a Bic Cristal. I loved the ink. The flow. The pressure. A 13 cent pen had stolen my heart. But what if? What if we took that cheap pen and turned it into a premium thing of beauty? What if it had tricks up its sleeve? What if we teamed up with Big Idea Design to make it all happen? We’re stoked to present the Sancho Pen. A Big I x Knafs collab.

I use the cap of a Bic Cristal as a toothpick, so if we were going to get rid of the cap, I needed a replacement toothpick. And what’s a toothpick without some tweezers too? You just never know when you might need to pull a splinter.

It looks like it is already sold out.  I guess it has been out for 3 weeks, but somehow it is just now crossing my feed. Kind of a bummer, as I would probably have bought in. Both because the item is cool, but also because it is always good to support a friend.
