Rigby welcomes new gunmaker Daniel Rivers

London gunmaker John Rigby & Co. is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Rivers as its newest gunmaker. Daniel brings nearly seven years of gunmaking experience and a passion for craftsmanship to the Rigby team.

Originally from South East London, Daniel developed his skills in design and furniture making before transitioning to the gun trade, offering a unique perspective to the art of gunmaking. His craft-oriented nature, love for problem-solving and attention to detail inspired him to pursue a career in this field.

“What particularly attracted me to Rigby was not just their exceptional guns but also the enthusiasm and pride of the team,” said Daniel. “Everyone is incredibly dedicated and passionate about their work, creating a positive environment. The company has a younger crowd, which brings a lot of energy and it’s motivating to be a part of.”

In his new role, Daniel will focus primarily on finishing work while also gaining further experience in regulation and actioning. This comprehensive approach allows him to expand his understanding of the methods used throughout the entire process, developing a well-rounded skill set and appreciating the level of detail that goes into every Rigby gun.

Marc Newton, managing director of John Rigby & Co., commented: “We are delighted to welcome Daniel to our team. His dedication to fine workmanship makes him an excellent fit for Rigby. We look forward to the contributions he will make to our legacy.”

Daniel’s appointment underscores Rigby’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent and preserving traditional gunmaking skills. His addition to the team will help ensure that Rigby continues to exceed standards expected by discerning sportsmen worldwide.
