Big-Game, Big Adventure Revolver in .44 Mag!

Here comes the revolver built for your next adventure into wild country! The Colt Kodiak brings a carry-sized revolver chambered in .44 Rem Mag, built to handle the wild.

Colt Kodiak Revolver

Built to handle the rugged demands of trekking into wild country, the Kodiak features a stainless steel finish. The Kodiak comes with a one-piece, full lug. A ventilated rib, stainless steel barrel includes porting and measures 4.25 inches. The design helps mitigate the recoil of the powerful .44 round. An non-fluted cylinder delivers some unique styling. The revolver’s grip pattern is interchangeable with both Colt Python and Anaconda models, adding to the appeal.

Make no mistake, this revolver begs to be carried in wild country. The 4.25-inch barrel keeps it manageable to work from a holster and even concealment. For backcountry hunters or fishermen chasing salmon and the like where toothy bears live, the Kodiak presents an extremely viable option for protection.

Retail price is $1,599. For more info, visit colt.com.

Editor’s Take:

We love purpose-driven product introductions: tools that serve as the answer to a very specific question. Yes, you can carry lots of different firearms and calibers into wild country. But we really appreciate the reliability of a revolver chambered in a cartridge immediately capable of dispatching very big, dangerous critters. As the name applies, the Kodiak is built for places like Alaska, where dangerous bears roam. But for anyone who ventures into wild country, even hikers, for example, in the lower 48, the Kodiak appears a solid choice for wilderness protection. We’ll get some rounds through one on the range real soon for a definitive test.
