South Carolina Is Officially The 29th Constitutional Carry State

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has signed a new law allowing adults 18 and over to carry loaded handguns without a permit or training. This law, which positions South Carolina as the 29th state to adopt permitless carry, aims to expand Second Amendment rights for law-abiding citizens while imposing stricter penalties for illegal gun use and possession, particularly among convicted felons.

The law’s passage followed a compromise between the South Carolina Senate and House, fulfilling a request by Governor McMaster for tougher penalties on illegal firearm carriers.
