MISSOULA, Mont. (September 18, 2026) – The Boone and Crockett Club welcomes the “Reinvigorating America’s Hunting Heritage” Executive Order announced yesterday during a dinner with hunting and fishing conservation leaders at the White House. The four primary sections of the Order focus on expanding hunting access to federal public lands, growing a new generation of hunters, promoting robust game species populations, and increasing wild game donation. Club President Mary Webster and CEO Tony Schoonen and other Club Members participated in the dinner and Schoonen offered the following quote in support of the Order:
“As fall hunting seasons begin across the country, the Boone and Crockett Club appreciates the administration’s timely attention to the important issues facing wildlife today. We look forward to working with the now mobilized agencies to address today’s challenges with quail, bighorn sheep, mule deer, and other species not yet fully recovered.”
In addition, President Trump’s comments during the dinner showed the administration’s support for finalizing legislation that would reauthorize critical outdoor and conservation programs that initially passed within the Great American Outdoors Act. Members of the Club spent several days on Capitol Hill this week pushing for finalizing the America the Beautiful Act and reauthorizing the Legacy Restoration Fund, a top policy issue for the Boone and Crockett Club.
