Kevin Ormston Featured on Hunting Matters Podcast

HOUSTON, TX – February 2,, 2026 — Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is proud to announce that longtime Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) leader, volunteer, and past president Kevin Ormston is featured as a guest on the Hunting Matters Podcast, where he shares his deep-rooted passion for hunting, conservation, business leadership, and decades of service to HSC.

A native Houstonian, Ormston’s love for the outdoors began at an early age when he harvested his first whitetail buck at just eight years old. Raised in a multi-generation hunting family, his lifelong commitment to conservation, education, and hunters’ rights has guided both his personal and professional life.

On the podcast, Ormston reflects on his extensive involvement with Houston Safari Club Foundation, which began in 2008 and includes serving as HSCF President in 2016, multiple terms on the Board of Directors, and leadership roles across membership, finance, grants, and convention committees. He also discusses chairing the 2015 HSCF Convention, “Where the Wild Things Are,” and his continued dedication to the HSCF Convention, most recently serving as Chairperson of the Exhibitor Interaction Committee for the 2026 convention.

The episode also highlights Ormston’s professional journey as the owner of Rummel Creek Builders and Rummel Creek Pools, sharing how his leadership in the construction industry aligns with his volunteer philosophy and commitment to excellence. Ormston credits much of his success to the support of his wife Cheryl of more than 26 years, and the inspiration he draws from his daughters, Kayla and Kendall.

Ormston has been honored with HSCF’s President’s Award (2020) and the Frank Green Award of Commitment (2023), the highest volunteer honor awarded by the Past Presidents of Houston Safari Club Foundation.

Listeners of Hunting Matters will gain insight into Ormston’s hunting heritage, the importance of the HSCF Convention in advancing conservation efforts, and his vision for the future of hunting and wildlife stewardship.
