Houston Safari Club Foundation Awards Grants to Support Conservation, Education, and Veterans’ Programs

HOUSTON, TX – October 29, 2025 — The Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is proud to announce its Q3 2025 grant awards, supporting a range of initiatives dedicated to wildlife conservation, outdoor education, and veteran outreach.

The HSCF Board of Directors recently approved several important grants that directly align with the organization’s mission to preserve the sport of hunting through education, conservation, and the protection of hunters’ rights.

HSCF awarded $20,000 to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF), an organization that works at both state and federal levels to advance policies protecting hunting, fishing, and outdoor traditions across the nation.

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) received two grants totaling $10,000, including $5,000 to support the Desert Bighorn Sheep Coalition project, which focuses on the restoration and management of bighorn sheep populations in West Texas, and $5,000 for the Stewards of the Wild program, an initiative engaging young professionals in conservation education and hands-on field experiences.

Recognizing the healing power of time spent in nature, HSCF also awarded $10,000 to Veterans outreach programs, helping connect our nation’s veterans with hunting opportunities designed to foster camaraderie, wellness, and personal growth.

Additionally, HSCF contributed $5,000 to the Wild Sheep Foundation to further its ongoing work sustaining wild sheep populations and their habitats across North America.

“Each of these grants represents an investment in the future—of wildlife, wild places, and the people who care for them,” said Joe Betar, Executive Director of HSCF. “Through the continued generosity of our members and partners, we’re able to make a meaningful impact that extends far beyond Texas.”

These contributions reflect the core values of the Houston Safari Club Foundation: responsible stewardship, education, and opportunity. The Foundation’s ongoing efforts are made possible through the support of its members, sponsors, donors, and volunteers who share a passion for conservation and the outdoors.
