U.S. Makes $750 Million Investment In Tackling Screwworm

Federal and Texas officials are taking serious steps to stop a potential invasion of the screwworm parasite and protect the country’s livestock. The ruling class has officially confirmed it will create a $750 million plant that will produce sterile flies in order to combat the screwworm invasion.

The facility will be located in Edinburg, which is about 20 miles north of the Texas border with Mexico, and will be able to produce 300 million sterile male flies per week, said United States Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins in a meeting with Governor Greg Abbott in Austin. These sterile flies will allegedly mate with female New World screwworm flies, rendering the eggs incapable of hatching.

The New World screwworm is a parasite that comes from a fly, and it is capable of killing cattle and other livestock. It appears to be the newest fear-mongering tactic since the bird flu outbreak has been left in the dust by the mainstream media.

Sterile Screwworm Flies Have Been Released To Combat Parasite

“The construction of a domestic sterile fly production facility will ensure the United States continues to lead the way in combating this devastating pest,” Rollins said Friday. “USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) and Customs and Border Protection are constantly monitoring our ports of entry to keep [the New World screwworm] away from our borders. We are working every day to ensure our American agricultural industry is safe, secure, and resilient.”

The New World screwworm isn’t yet in the U.S. accoridng to a report by CHRON, but it has been slowly moving north from Central America in recent months. Back in December, a screwworm was found in a cow in southern Mexico. As of Aug. 9, the screwworm has been detected as far north as near the state of Hidalgo, north of Mexico City. There have been thousands of cases annually since 2023; before that, there had only been about 25 cases per year, according to the USDA.

The ruling class seems to be spending a lot of money to stop this flesh-eating parasite from spreading. Is this a bigger deal than the bird flu? Will this move be effective? Is this just another fear-mongering situation and not really a big deal? Let us know what you think by sharing your thoughts in the comments.
