Introducing the Arizona Ranger™ Big Iron™ Revolver from Cimarron Firearms

Classically styled like its big brother, the Arizona Ranger™ Competition SA Model, the new Arizona Ranger™ Big Iron™ six-gun is the newest model in the ever-popular and expanding Arizona Ranger pistol line.

Fredericksburg, Texas (August 2025) – Cimarron Firearms, the premier name in authentic Old West firearm replicas, expand the popular Arizona Ranger™ Competition SA pistol line with the new Arizona Ranger™ Big Iron™ model series.

Cimarron Firearms founder and CEO, Mike Harvey, introduced the Arizona Ranger Competition SA model in 2023 in response to the demands of Cowboy Action competitors looking for a competition-style revolver in the classic Peacemaker design. Having designed and produced a fast-acting six-gun with all the features competitors love, Harvey named the new model the “Arizona Ranger” in honor of the law enforcement agency founded in 1901 to quell the increase in train robberies, cattle rustling, and overall increase in outlaw activities disturbing the growing Arizona Territory. The Arizona Rangers were named and modeled after the famous and highly successful Texas Rangers.

In keeping with the historical and cultural Americana Western nomenclature, Harvey christened the new line of Arizona Ranger revolvers “Big Iron,” in honor of one of America’s best loved cowboy songwriters and country singers, Marty Robbins’ song “Big Iron,” referring to an Arizona Ranger’s pursuit with a “big iron on his hip” of outlaw Texas Red.

The new Big Iron SA series is available in .357, .45 Colt, and .44WCF in barrel lengths of 4 ¾ inches, 5 ½ inches, and 7 ½ inches. A standard blue finish or a nickel finish is available on all Big Iron Models. The wide, square-notch rear sight and wide constant-width front sight allow for easy target acquisition and quick second-shot follow-ups.

The slim, checkered walnut grips provide for a confident and firmer hand fit. Built on a Pre-War frame with a standard hammer, the Big Iron SA series also features a roll-engraved “Arizona Ranger” on the barrel. MSRP starting at $709.41.
